Gentle, supportive care for every stage of life
From your child’s first check-up to ongoing care for the whole family — dentistry that grows with you.
At Stewart Road Dental, we believe caring for your family’s smiles should feel easy, comfortable, and personalised. Whether your child is visiting for the very first time or you’re seeking reliable ongoing care for adults and seniors, our team is here to support your family through every stage.
Many families in Ashgrove have grown up with us — children who once sat on their parent’s lap during their first check-up now bring in kids of their own. This long-term continuity of care allows us to truly understand your dental history and provide treatment that evolves alongside your life.
Caring for teeth at every age
Babies & Toddlers
Gentle early checks help ensure teeth are developing well, and give parents the chance to learn age-appropriate oral care habits — setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy dental visits.
Children
We focus on prevention, education and building trust, with routine check-ups, cleans, fluoride and fissure sealants. Mavis Liaw, our Oral Health Therapist, has a particular passion for children’s dental health and a natural ability to put younger patients at ease.
Teens
Teen years bring new challenges — sports injuries, braces, wisdom teeth, and building good hygiene habits. We guide teens through these transitions with practical advice and supportive, non-judgemental care.
Adults
From routine maintenance to restorative treatment when needed, we help adults maintain strong, healthy smiles with a personalised treatment plan built around your lifestyle and goals.
Seniors
Dental needs shift as you get older — wear and dry mouth become more common, and priorities change. Dr Arthur Walsh takes a conservative approach with senior patients, addressing issues early so they stay easy to manage rather than becoming harder to treat down the track.

Family Dentistry FAQs
Can my whole family see the same dentist?
Yes — many of our patients bring their whole family to see the same dentist, and we’re happy to coordinate care across generations.
Can I book multiple family members together?
Yes, we offer flexible appointment times and can often arrange back-to-back or same-day appointments for multiple family members — just let our team know when booking.
What age can my child start seeing the dentist?
Around 1 year old is a good starting point — by then they’ll usually have several baby teeth, and it’s really about introducing them to visiting the dentist in a low-pressure way. See our Children’s Dentistry page for more.
Do you accept the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?
Yes, we accept CDBS for eligible families — ask our team when booking to check your child’s eligibility.
Do you see patients of all ages, including seniors?
Yes — our team cares for patients from babies through to seniors, adapting our approach to each stage of life.
What if a family member feels nervous about visiting the dentist?
We aim to create a calm, judgement-free environment for every patient, regardless of age or anxiety level. Let us know ahead of time if you’d like extra reassurance or a more gradual introduction to treatment.
